|When a group of Hilton Grand Vacations Club Members travelled the high seas on a recent ClubPartner Perk cruise vacation, they journeyed to Europe’s most exotic ports of call. Cruising aboard Holland America’s Nieuw Amsterdam, Club Members sailed to some of the most scenic stops in the Mediterranean where old-world culture, excellent shopping and gourmet dining shined.
Yet the most beloved destination on their 12-day voyage was a private on-shore excursion to Hilton Grand Vacations Club at Borgo alle Vigne, where Club Members were treated to daylong itinerary of distinctive activities that showcased the best of Tuscany and Hilton’s newest vacation ownership resort.
Their Tuscan experience began with a brief stop at Piazza dei Miracoli, home of The Leaning Tower of Pisa, before heading to Borgo alle Vigne for a morning welcome reception of espresso, lattes, cappuccino, fresh juices, iced tea and pastries.
|Club Members spent the morning touring the grounds of Borgo alle Vigne tucked amid centuries-old vineyards and olive groves overlooking the historic hilltop village of Peccioli. Its collection of 31 villas, featuring contemporary living spaces and amenities with authentic Tuscan character, are nearing completion.
The brief glimpse of Tuscan life had many Club Members envisioning themselves returning year after year to enjoy the timeless pleasures of Tuscany and the legendary history, culture and cuisine of the region from their own vacation villa.
The rest of the day’s activities were devoted to helping Club Members experience Tuscany like a true Tuscan. An intimate tour and tasting awaited them at La Spinetta, a winery located just steps from Borgo alle Vigne.
|After an in-depth tour of La Spinetta’s winemaking facilities and vineyards, Club Members were treated to a picnic-style lunch of Italian meats, cheeses, breads and local produce accompanied by a wine tasting and dessert and wine pairing.
The final stop of their Tuscan immersion took Club Members to the charming hillside vineyard of Tenuta Podernovo, situated 20 minutes away in an up-and-coming wine-making zone within the province of Pisa. The winery opened its doors to Club Members exclusively for a private guided tour and tasting of its highly prestigious red wines.
"We have to say that the best part of the trip, though there were many, was our trip to Borgo alle Vigne,” said Club Member Margaret Toomey. “We really appreciate you sharing this special gem with us."
