Resort Manager's Message – January 2010
Happy New Year!
I would like to wish everyone a very Happy New Year. I hope that you have had a great 2009 and that 2010 is an even better year for all.
We have been anticipating the parking-lot pavers project since September. After many conversations with Fort Myers Beach and Lee County, we finally have the permits to allow us to begin the project. We will be starting on Monday, January 11. We are very excited about this enhancement to the resort.
During 2010 we will be replacing the bedspreads and cornice boards in the master and guest bedrooms. The 02 and 05 units will also have new plantation-style blinds installed in all windows. This has been a request since the new windows were put in last year.
During the spring and fall maintenance weeks, we will be working on the patio flooring. Fortunately we will be accessing the patios through the units and will not have to set up rigging on the outside of the building.
The updating of the bathrooms has been postponed until 2011 so that we can combine the project with the kitchens. Proposals and bids are being put together and a model will be completed in 2010.
The spa will be moved to the northwest corner of the patio. This project is due to the recent changes in the federal laws regarding the operation of the spa. We are obtaining bids discussing the project with three contractors and will make a decision at the board meeting in April as to which company will complete the project.
